Someone out there should be able to answer my question.
I want to upgrade my Celeron 300A CPU (O/C 450MHz) on my
P2B-S ( M/B Rev 1.03, Bios 1012) with a PIII CPU Slot1.
I found one for about $250, PIII - 1GHz 100MHZ FSB, Slot1
and I wonder whether this could go on my MB...
This motherboard I think goes up to 112MHz FSB although
was not recomended for that chipset,
(has anyone done this?)
and the multiplier up to 5X, but I believe the PIII uses
its own internal multiplier so it should work and all we
need to care about is the FSB speed ... Correct?
Has anyone done this or any other PIII CPU on this great
old motherboard?
I appreciate any even partial answers to my questions.
