hi ,
I was just wondering is it possiable to change the fsb of a motherboard to like 170? And how do you do it, where can I read up on it ? and the same with voltage how do you change that on a mobo? I seen ppl that overclock and they have like fsb at 170 they say. And I see some motherboards if you change the dip to highest fsb its like 133. so that what I can not understand how do you go from 133 to 170 ? if it say you cant in the manual ?

thx

fsb of 170 is too high, and you will need to lower the multiplier of teh cpu. imagine a tbird 1g ruiing at 1.7 g just with fsb changed to 170. you will need a lot of cooling gear. anyway, 170 is not a practicle value and its heavily dependent on the chassis, peripherals and board conditions. a value of upto 150 is okay to o/c.

in some cases you might need to change the crystal on the board to get higher fsb.
