I'm getting ready to put together an Athlon/DDR system. I'm using a 1.2 Ghz TBird, and 256 Mb of Crucial 2100 DDR. I am currently considering the Gigabyte GA-7DXR, and the A7a266 and a7m266. I hear much of stability issues with the a7m, but have not heard much of the Gigabyte. Any input?

Gigabyte have been around for some time now and are a well respected M/B manufacturer.
Personally I would wait just a couple of months more for the new nForce chipset, which promises to increase current chipset controllers by at least 40%.
Another one to watch for, is the SIS chipset, which incorperates both north & south bridges.

I am seeing the fewest complaints on the A7A266. And I have never seen a complaint about using Crucial DDR on it. In fact, I have never seen a complaint about any cards being incompatable, a problem that seems to plague VIA to a small degree. So I say go for the A7A266.
