Speed is wonderful. Instability is not. Tom likes overclocking and cooling solutions, but when reading it just seems far to dangerous. If anything when a little bit wrong you fry like at least $200 worth of stuff. On top of that if you don't know what you are doing, it can cause lock-ups, and even if you do know what your doin, if the motherboard (bios or whatever) isn't good enough, it could cause the problems. A tutorial on how Tom tests stuff would be very nice. Anyway I want to overclock, but it just seems like to many things can go wrong and it isn't worth it. What are your thoughts? What do you guys know about overclocking and cooling?

It is simple really and the equation is sort of like,
I can afford $x loss for a 20% gain to loss ratio...
I don`t recommend overclocking unless you are quite comfortable with:
A: A good income
B: Knowledge
C: willingness to experiment
D: Knowledge that NO manufacturer will honour the warranties that come with hardware.
My advise, don`t overclock!.

If you want to see the extreme oposite of the last guys statement, go to the Overclocking>CPU's section and see how far I took a PIII 700 that I can in no way afford to replace right now.
