all else failing i have a x6 based desktop with hd6950 so i no that could run it, but its 64bit os, so there will likely be issues there

wot else do u need? i said all the important specs...?

recap, iv said this before, but ill make it easy if ur not familiar with the specific parts:

CPU - intel atom d525 @1.8ghz (dual core 4 threads, small desktop based cpu)
GPU - nvidia ion 2 (geforce 9400m, optimus)
RAM - 2gb installed DDR3 laptop ram
OS - windows 7 home premium 32-bit

You had mentioned earlier. But it had errors like
cpu - d525 2x1.8ghz
graphics - nvidia ion 2 ( you dint mention that it was a 9400M GT and the rest is similar ).
win 7 32bit (i know this is fine)
enough free hard drive space
broadband (obviously)
and i think i have direct x 10..?

The 9400m isn't that powerful, and may fall under the below requirement category. ALSO: Which game is it ?
I'm a bit doubtful, maybe at lowered resolution and low-mid settings. But I can't tell unless you tell me which game it is.

You still haven't mentioned what game it is.

Also, why would you want to play it on a notebook when you have an X6 with an HD6950 standing around?

Well, the OP did say that 64 bit is not supported ( officialy ) so I guess he just hasn't tried it yet on his desktop rig.

@OP: Mention the name of the game too.

Plenty of games are listed as "not officially supported" in 64bit, which in practise just means "we were too lazy to go and test it". My experience has been that everything that works in 32bit works just fine in 64bit.

32-bit os has much better backward gaming compatability, according to my personal experiance

the desktop is used mainly for high end gaming, vid proccessing and i host a number of different macros and a server, so the cpu is often fairly well occupied

and i dont take my desktop and monitor etc away on holiday or to mates (except for LANs) i just take my laptop and a small bluetooth mouse

its not that i dont want to use the desktop, i just think that if i can get the game (which btw is called lineage 2, forgot to mention) working on the laptop, maybe aswell as the desktop, it would be more practical

if im at home on the desktop, im likely not playing 8 year old games and instead playing '10-'11 titles

in summary, i want to know if it will work on my laptop because i have decided that i want to know if it will work on my laptop. desktop is irrelevant. if someone with the knowlegde can please answer this question, which is more or less a yes or no answer, that would be greatly appreciated =)
