I have an HP Scanjet 4c. The software tells me that the scanner is locked
and to refer to the manual to unlock. Anybody know how to unlock this
puppy? There is some type of lock mechanism on the back, but I can't get it
to move. Any help?

If the block above the SCSI connector, with the
rectangular hole, is down in the slot, the scanner
carriage is mechanically locked. The block must be
slid up to release.

They can be stiff to operate.
