Are you trying the POST tests with minimum config? i.e. no sound card and any other non-essential add ons? Are you getting any beeps when it doesn't POST?

have you tried to lower the AGP setting to 2x and installed the latest drivers for the card and motherboard. It seems strange that it works with a Radeon and not the GeForce.

If it works for you then don't fix it.

i would try those options but my system with the gforce 3 wont even bring up the bios . works fine with raedon . this sucks. thanks for suggestions.

Have you tried clearing CMOS?

Get into the BIOS using one of your other video cards. Make sure Init Display First is set to AGP.

I thought when boards didn't even beep they were dead.
Normally you get one beep for a good problem free boot, 3 fast beeps for no video card, or bad video card ram, and a long continuous beep for no ram, or no processor. Well something like that.
I was pretty sure that if a mobo didn't beep at all it was a gonner, but if you put the radeon in and it works then I'm wrong.
Try making sure your bios say an AGP video card, and make sure your shadowing is disabled, heck I'll reboot my computer for you and tell you what I have my settings to.
(I have A7M266 and visiontek geforce 3)

It is probably something really simple, make sure the card is fully seated in the slot.

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!

Its just that card couldn't tango with the mobo. Try swapping the PS and see if it works or change to another brand of the same 3D chip.

It don't come easy.......not always.

Not in my experience.

:-D
hmm in that case I have a KT7A mobo right now on RMA that won't post at all, I tried my geforce 3, I tried geforce 2 ms, and the thing doesn't beep no matter what. I think it is just DOA though, I reset the bios, and its not the CPU because right now the Tbird 700 is inside of an ECS mobo working just fine.

Oh well I still havn't reboot yet but when I do I'll write down my bios settings.

Try setting the AGP setting to 2X in the BIOS, changing the INIT display to AGP, and lastly, DISABLE AGP Fast Writes. I had to do the last one, and reinstall the VIA 4.32 4-1 drivers to get the system to work with a GeForce 2 GTS.

I should have said "not ALWAYS, in my experience" instead of not in my experience.
