Hi all

Completed crysis 2 a little while back, then when the dx11 and hi res packs came out i thought i would give them ago. Unfortunately after i installed the hi-res pack the game wouldnt start, it flashed a black screen as if it is going to and then disappears without any messages. I have reinstalled at least 6 or 7 times now as i really want to experience the blackfire 2 mod, but am unable to get it to start. I have tried numerous fixes i have found on the internet but none have seemed to work. This is the game file and it stops at renderer initialization.

If anyone can help that would be great, otherwise i have lost money on buying a game i can longer play which would really suck. Cheers.

i notice you dont have a propper page file setup. set it to 1.5 times your physical ram size. even if that puts it at 9GIG... there is a reason for this in that some apps use the pagefile rather than real memory and yours is being fully used...

i only ever use about 10-15 percent of my pagefile but i dont have any of thes issues you mention.

i also notice your system is shutting down when it gets to render initalization. this may be due to you haveing a gfx card that is smalle that 1 gig of memory. the hi rez texture packs need a minimum of 1 gig any less and they wont work.

Hi thanks for your reply

I set the page file to 9gb but it still wont run and the game file is still identical to my original post. I noticed whilst looking through the game file that it says running 32bit version (not on original post). I know that the hi res pack wont run on 32 bit, i do have 64bit so why is it saying running 32 bit? I have installed the game in both program files(x86) and not but both the same. My gpu is an XFX 5830 XXX with 1gig so i think i am alright on this.

Added MOD directory <engine> to CryPak

It is patched to 1.9 but i dont know if it showing that it is?

Thanks again

your exe is the rite 1 it is run from the x86 folder. i have the whole thing installed in the x86 folder even the 64bit patch updates.

the only thing i can think of is the install has become corrupted. check the event logs in control panel/admin tools/events...

hopefully that will give a little more insite as to why the game is crashing... its unlikley that dxdiag will help you find the fault.
