I recently upgraded to a new motherboard "ECS K7VTA3" It is taking a long time to load software. I can not even burn CD's like I used too. Here are my specs hopefully someone out there can help me out.
ECS-K7VAT3 main board
AMD 1.2 G Thunderbird Process.
512 PC 266 SDD Ram
Western Digital HD ATA 66
DvD rom drive
Creative Labs CDRW burner
TnT 2 Ultra video
SB Live sound card
network card "unsure of manufacture?"
I sure hope that there is somone who can give me a hand with this ........ it is a shame to have to wait nearly half an hour to put in Baldures Gate 2
Thank you !

Probably is. Just to be sure, remove all the other cards and leave it just the basic setup and see if it still loads slow. Swap the ide cable to different ide channel and check it out.

It don't come easy.......not always.

IDE setup ? Well The Hard Drive is the primary master , the DVD rom is the Primary slave , and the CDRW drive is the secondary master. In the bios I have it set to auto.
