I'm building an AMD 1.4Ghz,MSI 6341 Mobo, DDR Ram system. I put the heatsink on the CPU and believe I unknowingly cracked the chip, when I turned on the computer the chip fried and popped within 6 seconds. I re-ordered a new CPU and cannot get it to boot up.....is it possible I burned out the Mobo when I ran power through the cracked CPU?

I've read about the same problem before and your not the first!! From what I've read your OK. Most likely the CMOS is not reset and the MB is still functional. I'm no expert but, GO!! to www.msihardware.com / forums / K7-Master, for a possable and the only! solution to your problem.
