Hello smart people. I just recently built my first comp system and all went well. It is just my cpu which is suppost to be 1.4ghz 266fsb t-bird is running at 1.2ghz. I messed with the dip switches last night.
I first set the JEN to jumper mode [1-2]
I then set the CPU External Frequency Setting to 133Mhz
I next changed the CPU Core BUS Frequency Multiple to 12.5x, which i the highest setting that i know of(atleast in the asus manual.)
I'm not sure what else i can do.
My system:
asus A7V133
- JumperFree PC133/VC133
- 200/266MHz FSB AGP PRO/4x
- Socket A Motherboard
Athlon T-bird 1.4GHz 266fsb
Swiftech MC370-0A
400w Power Supply
512mb sdram PC133
Elsa Geforce3 Gladiac 920

Thank you if you can help me

How come you didn't use the jumperless feature? I'm running an A7V with a Tbird 1200MHz and it works great.

Your settings for the 1.4Ghz Athlon is wrong I believe. Let's do the math:

133Mhz * 12.5 = 1662.5
WOW! Looks like your overclocking the hell out of it! Your mobo is probably defaulting to the 100Mhz to save your CPU.

The settings should be:

1400/133 = 10.5

So set your FSB to 133 and your multiplier to 10.5. I'd try this in jumperless mode personally. That way you don't have to go crawling in and out of the chassis.

Good luck.

Catheter and Caffeine IV are in place. Let's PLAY.
