i cant get a7m266 to post at 1.33 my retail speed. after new bios update, it postes at 1400, which is the incorrect speed, and gives windows errors. anyone can figure this out? using 450 watt enermax power. mulitplier is locked at 10.5 and running 133 fsb. cant change mulitplier,, anyway to change the mulitplier back to 10?

bump, the muliplier is set at 10.5, why is it set like that in the bios? its grayed out and i cant select or change it. The amd t-bird is set to run at 1.33, so i believe the mulitplier to be 10x and my memory setting is 133. can someone tell me why it keeps posting at 1400? i cant run windows, at that speed, and i keep getting kernal errors. someone please help

i have the latest update 1004a the mobo is still detecting the multiplier as 10.5 which should really be 10. Is my chip a 1.4? it wouldnt run at 1.4 everytime i start windows it would produce errors. before the updates 1.33 would post, but wouldnt install anything. After the update it posted 1.4. whats up?

i never heard of this... try calling AMD or ASUS for tech support... seriously i think you may have some serious problems here... i'm thinking a bad CPU since your motherboard has a hard time detecting it.. form what u told me and it crashes all the time... or it could be your motherboard because it can't detect your cpu and it's crashing all the time... lol so ya just give tech support a ring.. i really can't help much because i have never heard of such a thing and that might be why you got little responses too..

so ya call tech support from both asus and amd thats all i can officialy say.

My sig is better then your's!

yup, i updated it from 1003 and now it is 1004a, before it posts at 1333mhz but wouldnt install windows, after i got it to 1004a it automatically posts at 1400mhz, without me changing anything. I dont think its a bad chip, i lowered the fsb down to 127 x 10.5 since the mulitplier is locked at 10.5 and that gives me 1334mhz which runs flawlessly but i am losing the extra fsb which would speed up my system. Please help, anyone. thanx

nevermind,, check the chip now, reading 1400, figures,, they sent me the wrong chip, i ordered a 1.33 and they sent me a 1400. guess i should keep it, but i still cant get it to run at 1400,, i think my temps kinda high at 1334 at 50C

whats your Heat sink? odds are you just need a new one, or you need to reapply your current one with some nice Thermal paste.

i have some generic crap fan, with some pink thermal greese or pad under it that has worn off on the cpu already. the temps i am getting running at 1334mhz with 10.5 x 127 fsb are 50c sometimes it might crash also. i cant figure out if its the ram or the cpu overheating. i have some generic 2 x 256 ddr 2100 ram sticks. its most stable at 1334, and below. anyone have any ideas?
