I just found this link at AMDZone.com

So does this mean that my cpu's 50C temp on MBM5, AsusProbe, and BIOS, would be measured at 40C if placed in a different board, or with an earlier BIOS? My BIOS reads the same as AnalProbe and MBM5. Does this apply to case temps as well?

Asus stated that they simply added 10C to the actual temp reading from the sensor because they thought it was reading low. But in reality, I beleive the 10C they added was not needed, and results in an artificially high reading. It will read lower in previous BIOS revisions, but the temp will be the same. I think someone should use a thermal probe to measure the actual tempurature and resolve this issue, as Asus seems unable to provide an accurate means of measurement on ANY of their boards.

I believe I heard something about Asus boards not reading accurately prior to this with the 133A boards. My friend has one and and has VERY high temps. Any info on this so I can help him.

Go over to The Inquirer where they have a couple of stories on this. I believe I read, on a link to Asus, that they did use a probe and found the bios temp reading low.

So I guess my question is, when I was trippin' about my cpu temps, it was probably over nothing? I mean, if I'd been using an A7V or A7M board, would I have been happy with my temps? Or in other words; say someone posts here about their A7V, 1.2gig, etc., running at 42C under load. Well, I'm running at 52C under load. Can I assume then that if my cpu was in their board (all else being equal), that my temp would show 42C under load, too? Would I be correct in subracting 10C from my temps in order to compare my temps to others'? Are my temps better than what I've thought all along?!

Lemme putit thisaway: Put your finger on your heatsink near the base. Assuming you have good contact between your heatsink and your chip with a good interface material, at 50C it will be VERY warm, like a hot cup of coffee.
