So the xps gen 2 with the nvidia 6800ultra is getting shipped with oldest drivers dell could dredge up and they have no plans, or even capabilities to change that.

In typical Dell fashion they lied about Nvidia having NOT released the drivers and then refused to answer support calls about why they haven't amended any of the drivers for the notebook xps gen2 implementation since they were actually released so long ago.

Finally they (the highly technical and greatly experieinced support staff) said it was ok to download some one else's 7.6 version drivers (when 7.7 was specifically asked for), anybody's drivers. They obviously DID NOT CARE. Or perhaps they did not even understand the conversation might be more to the point

Micheal ("do anyone twice that's foolish enough" ) Dell passed this issue off, inspite of the web site sworn 7/24 support by product (xps gen2) dedicated staff that are highly (haha ha)into the technology, to some business associate that immediately went on vacation and will be back sometime next week.

Do not try and run Battlefield 2 on dell's, brand new, "flagship", "gaming" notebook, the XPS Gen2 and expect to get any satisfaction at all.

This product now enters the suspicious and suspect into why they have no support for it other than the fact they wanted to suck in a lot of execs that can only read e-mail and surf the web, but wanted to broadcast the specs of a pc from the most extravagant advertiser, computer maker.

Heaven forbid they ever get a technical issue to solve, dell outsources everything and being so heavily indebt for advertising could not afford to to the decent thing, to do the right thing, but instead: lied, evaded, deceived and avoided any real work and technical explanation.

If you are thinking about a dell:
- you're paying nearly twice what the system, any system should cost unless it is another "white elephant"
- Your upgrade options will be severely limited and more expensive than they have to be.
- They only put the computers together and have not got enough technical expertise in the entire company to light a match.
-If you have more money than brains and all you ever plan to do is e-mail and surf the web, then you might never know.
