More about warcraft drive
  1. Reinstall the game (delete it and install from the start). This sounds a lot to me like a broken file in the directory, indicating *cough cough* a pirate copy.
  2. Please list your PC specs.
    Is your game legit ?
  3. well first try to uninstall and do a clean installation of the game, check ur pc for any malware or virus infections. Most of the time they are the reason for something not working properly. ;)
  4. On the topic of WarCraft 3 and CD-ROM's, one of the recent patches allows you to play the game without having the disc in the drive, which is pretty cool.

Eh. I have a pirate copy for everyday use, simply because this pirate copy has all the updates and add-ons needed to run DotA well enough (I'm in South Africa as well BTW, playing on Twilight). For legality though I have a copy of the game as well as the expansion. I'm not going to use it though, as the setup and "getting it to work" is simply too much of a hassle.

Oh, and I don't see any issues with using the pirate copy if I did pay for the game. Just personal choice :)
  6. ^ How is getting the Legit version to work a hassle?
  7. Soooo many updates (was a huge issue with a capped 384 line), and then you need a new executable file (that red one) or Battle.net won't work lekker. Also, maps. I have 4,000 custom maps on the used game. But I only use 3 of them funny enough, DotA, Fellies: Non-lag Final and Run Kitty Run. And the occasional porn map when the crowd asks.

I think I'll give the legit a go though, I have the connection and cap to do so now.
  8. I bought W3 and Frozen Throne off Take2.co.za for R80 apiece. SO far both work fine in W7 64bit, but I haven't tried using Battle.net yet.
  9. Yeah the moment you try getting on BNet, you need a new game launcher, one that allows for the correct internet settings and all those stuff. You need a Twilight account (unless you want to play on overseas servers with huge pings) and there's a fairly large update waiting before you can start playing.

I picked up my copies for R129 from Look & Listen about five years ago. Never even installed them once... :)
  10. AT this stage I have little interest in playing WC3 on Battle.net anyway. SC2 is where it's at...
  11. Never really liked SC or SC2. DotA is more or less what I do. Between the other games, of course, but DotA is my "sleeper" game. The one I play before going to bed at night. LOL :P
