I have built several computers using Win 2K with both the VIA chipset and ALI Magik Chipset. It seems like everytime you try to install the chipset drivers it makes win2k think your ide devices are scsi and you can't get it UDMA mode. It has given me a lot of problems with watching DVDS and burning CDs and now I dont even install the drivers. What is the deal?

The DMA for VIA can be adjusted by the VIA ultra DMA controler Item (not Prim/sec) the main one. Alternately
with the 3.011 Version the DMA utility can do it.
