hi,

i know enough about networks to connect two windows based computers together fairly easily, but i want to connect my windows 2000 based pc to my ultra spark 1 (dont laugh i know its old but its relable) via a simple network, the ultra spark has solaris 2.5 installed, all i need the network for is transfering files. Any information on the simplest way to set up a network would be greatly appreciated!!!!

i have posted here before but i forgot my password and thgc wouldnt send me a reminder!!

you shouldnt have a problem, just install the same protocals on each computer. i know nothing about solaris. but why in gods name are you running solaris on a home computer?

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

"just install the same protocals on each computer",

i dont want to sound dumb but how would i do that?, and then from there do you know how to move files?

"i know nothing about solaris"
i think it is similar but not nessecarily compatible with unix.

"but why in gods name are you running solaris on a home computer"
yeah i know, i wish i didnt have to but its for specialist software and has to be run on solaris.

thanks
