EQ2 Tradeskill question

I've reached the point where I need to do a quest to get to 10th level
in tradeskilling. How do I find it in Qeynos? I've tried to join the
different societies but they won't let me. I have 125% of the
experience to make it to 10th level.

I must have missed something some where.

No quest to do, just go speak with Alfred Ironforge, in the construction
site by the docks in Qeynos Harbor. After you've done that you'll need to
actually craft something in order to ding 10 in your chosen profession. Then
you're set.

You talk to a guy in Qwynos harbour, near the construction part on the
dock. No trial, you just talk to him and choose. LAter on, when you
specialise further, you talk to his wife.

As for societies, I joined a wholesale one in Baubbleshire (The
Deductive Directory) and a tradeskilling one is Starcrest (I forget
the name, but it's directly opposite the dock).

Yep, found that out. Had to craft something so I could ding and then
join The Scriveners Society.

Kind of weird but as I thought of it when I had 220% experience before
my citizenship quest and I dinged as soon as the quest was finished,
the quest gave me experience. The tradeskill quest gives no experience
and the game seems to check for dings after experience given.

Yes, it's exactly the same model as the adventuring model, but most people
don't notice the requirement of experience since the class transition
requires a quest and the tradeskill transition does not. The class quest
provides the needed experience automatically but since you don't quest for
tradeskilling advancement, you're left having to get the experience by
crafting one more item.
