out of range message on screen

After fixing many problems with OS including downloading
SP2, one new problem and 2 old problems remain. The new
problem: after screensaver has been activated because
computer was idle, moving the mouse causes screen to go
black with message "out of range 85Hz/68kHz". Other 2
problems, Aol continues to disconnect (dial-up), and the
windows explorer shortcut found in accessories opens "My
Documents" folder instead of showing all on C drive.
Anyone have any ideas or solutions?
Much appeciated,

I read several posts on USB and SP2 conflicts so if your
mouse is USB you should look for updated drivers or
reinstall your present driver for any usb devices.

Aol is notorious for disconnects...try different access
numbers if your on dialup, try lowering bps in modem
settings, check data compression on, try lowering com1 bps
and recieving and transmit buffering one notch in advanced
com port options (hardware+device manager). Also check
modem for conflicts while your there. I recommend one
change at a time then check results (time consuming but
pinpoints problem) You might try enabling PPP logging and
or verbose PPP logging (extensive detail) look on kelly's
corner for tweak to activate or edit registry. Also look
at Kelly's for your folder opening problems.
