This is my first time building a computer and right now I only have the motherboard (ASUS A7M266) my AMD 1.4/266 with fan and my Geforce 2 GTS/PRO hooked up along with the keyboard. I got it to start up one time and I forgot to place the cpu fan properly and I left it on for aboug 1 min until I smelled some burning and the cpu had burn marks on it. Is it possible the cpu is toast and thats why I don;t get any video output or am I forgetting something? I have it on the correct power for US and not European.

probabely you have roasted your processor.

try putting all the things back in place, alongwith the Heastsink and fan properly mounted and give it a shot.

if it doesnt, check the processor in some other good board or take it to your vendor for testing.
