Good stuff. Alas, I have given up on the mainstream and thrown myself into the abyss of the goth and industrial genres. Currently I'd be found listening to the likes of Ministry, Skinny Puppy, VNV Nation, Fields of the Nephilim, Slick Idiot, Die Krupps, 
, Velvet Acid Christ, plus whatever they happen to play at the clubs (the bennies of working in them). Other than that, I'm racking my brain trying to write my own stuff.

Yeah badly-done punk rock can grate my ears. Bad Religion is pretty good.....they're one of the older punk bands. But mostly it's just not for me. Maybe if I drink 10 mellow yellows or red bulls then I might be in the mood to listen to it

That will always be one of life's great mysteries. Will Young obviously has some talent and to be fair has adapted well to sudden fame and the demands of performing, but beyond that he's spectacularly average and his music is indistinguishable from the general background of crap and banality. Maybe it's his slight 'underdog' status (like Gareth Gates) that keeps him up there. Or maybe he's just cashing in on the 'pink pound'

To me it's a lot like the movie biz. They have no guts when it comes to signing bands. The target demographic for both movies and music is just too young and dumbed-down. 
Hollywood is worse though, IMO. A really incestuous business for the most part.

Well I only have seen Missy Eliott's new clip, Work it.
Man I agree, it's just so "weird" how she does that video. But I somehow like it, as odd as it is. Especially funny is the beginning with the guy answering the phone, it has no sense or place in the video yet it fits! And then we see her as a DJ with bees on her... what masterpiece is this!
