I have a old motherboard i want to upgrade the bios so i can stuff in a 10 gig or bigger hard drive. the bios only supports 8 gig. whan i run sisoft it shows 82437 430vx vas the board but the discription is diffrernt on websights!
This board has a brown slot that holds a board with 3pci 3isa uses edo ram 4 slots chipset on the board is 430vx the bios is phoenix bios 4.05.G ??? any help finding a bios would be great this board is for p75-p200 non mmx currently 120 oc133
Inspect the board very closely. Names or model numbers are often located between the expansion slots, but may be anywhere else. OEM boards can be tough to ID. Also do as suggested in the previous post.
Ok i did the pause thing and this is what i got in the top left the only thing there...
ATI-264VT/A4 EDO BIOS 2.225
PHOENIX BIOS VERSION 4.05.G
COPYRIGHT 1996 NEC TECHNOLOGIES,INC
REV .00.02.16
THAT ALL THERE WAS SO IF YOU CAN DO ANY SEARCHING I WOULD BE VERRY GREATFULL I;VE BEEN LOOKING FOR DAYS AND CANT FIND ANYTHING FOR MY UNKNOWN NEC READY 7622 M"U"THER BOARD
THANKS VERRY MUCH PS AS FOR THE BOX THE THING CAME IN....... PROBABLY ALREADY DE-COMPOSED IN A LAND FILL LOL TY
BTW - all hard drive manufacturers have free utilities that will allow you to run large hard drives without having to update anything (BIOS, etc.) This would be another option open to you. I've done it many times and have never had a problem.
It's always the one thing you never suspected.
Most likely the only place you'll find BIOS revisions is NEC's website. They had their boards custom modified, er, custom made. You'll most likely have to use partitioning software (available for free from your hard drive manufacturer) in order to go large.
