So, this may be a stupid question, but i'm all out of ideas.
The only game i play is Quake 3 Arena. It's an old game, and i have a new laptop that is more than capable of running it.
My problem is as follows:
I play in a server located probably down the street from me. My ping in game is fine, and my game play on my machine is perfect. The problem is, other people keep telling me that i'm "skipping" around...or lagging. I'm not sure what could be causing this. I'm running Time Warner's basic cable service at 10mbps.
the ping test is a bit higher than what i normally get, but not much. I ran a tracert as well and nothing looked abnormal there either.
I'm at wits end with this. I would be rather annoyed if 10mbps couldn't run a 12 year old game smoothly, especially when the server i play on is in the same city.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
