Madden 2012

Simple question.

If I buy a PS3 and my friend has a Xbox360 and we both have the new Madden 2012, will we be able to play against each other or do we need the same console system. Does it use Madden servers to connect to players or console servers?

Currently there is no system to cross platform games. So you would have to have xbox to play him or vice versa.
