What's this I hear about political correctness run amok in Canada????
My friend in Vancouver just told me that Santa Claus can no longer be called "Santa Claus", as it might be offensive to those who do not believe in Christmas. He must now be referred to as "The Man in the Red Suit".
AND...kids can no longer sit on his knee?!! Too afraid that pedophilic red-suited men will be fondling too many kids' bottoms!!
Jesus...what's going on up there???
<font color=green>"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "<i>doesn't</i> come from a store.

Um, Santa Claus has nothing to do with Christianity. I don't know what else there is to "believe in" during christmas. lol. Santa Claus (just FYI, although most probably know) comes from St. Nicklaus, a german who went around giving gifts to the poorer children of his town. This eventually spawned into him doing this constantly for all good children in German speaking countries (if you were bad a demon looking creature called the Krampus would come instead and haul u away in a basket -- remember where the brothers Grimm originated from lol). Eventually (i don't know the other steps) we in america added reindeer, the north pole and elves (but not like the lord of the ring elves, lol). This is really PC run amok. See what happens when Hillary Clinton gets closer to Canada?
Oh..and apparently the retail stores are no longer allowed to say "Merry Christmas". It's now "Season's Greetings".
But, even though dear Santa doesn't necessarily herald from Christianity...Christmas does for many people. I just wish that people could take the good cheer with which a "Merry Christmas" is intended...and leave all the other stuff behind. It's the good will...not the religion, that is in most people's hearts.
Or maybe I'm being too idealistic?

Even though for me, it's the religion, which produces good will, i say i agree I'm tired of all the political correctness that constantly gets in the way of politeness and friendliness.
It's also a reason why i dislike feminism (aside from the fact that I'm a Christian). Women used to be abused and beaten constantly (and still are in a lot of countries). That is very VERY wrong, true. But now, it's getting rediculous. Men and women first of all are different (it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell u that). I kind of laugh when i hear things like "women make 75 cents on a dollar a man makes". This is due to the fact that more men are CEOs and more women gravitate to things like helping the elderly, PT, or teaching (which, don't frankly pay well). I say drop the whole gender wars. I still believe in chivalry (and practice it constantly -- although throwing my coat on a puddle is a little excessive -- usually pointing it out is good enough). Feminism has become something that kills chivalry and makes women disgusted when i do something polite like open doors for them (ya, i do that for all women, not just my girlfriend). I don't get it. By doing chivalrous acts, u are lifting the woman up, not making her an object, not saying that she is unequal to u (at least in the negative sense). I really think common day feminism is making men not be men and women not be women. Sad . I wait for the day i'm arrested for pushing my wife's chair in for her as she sits.
Gist of a statment from a leading feminist -- Christianity has made women slaves to their husbands. We need to rise up as women, bury the shackles of marriage and go back to women-based religions...like witchcraft.
(i'm not making this up lol).
LOL...
Okay. I am proud of you for being chivalrous. I, for one, love it when a man opens a door for me. I think it shows courtesy and respect, and I can't see how it could be taken any other way.
However, when they say that women make 75 cents on the dollar that men do...they mean that in the same job, a woman will make 25% less than a man. This is just wrong. A woman hired to do a job, possessing the same qualifications and experience, should be paid at the same rate as a man. My sister-in-law is a case in point. She has two bachelor's degrees, one in manufacturing engineering, the other in business. She works for an oil company in CA as a production manager (plant manager), and is FULLY aware that she makes about 2/3 what a male would make doing the SAME job. Plus...due to the nature of that industry, she is constantly having to prove herself to her superiors AND her subordinates. She is eminently qualified, and very "left brained"...(read smart). It just doesn't make sense to me why she should be paid less.

Actually, most of the things i've found is that the 75 (or 72 or whatever it is for the day lol) cents is based without regard to field, experience, and/or job level. It's really odd. I've actually talked to a lot of women and men in the field (computer science) and professors at my college and it turns out that almost always the women are paid a little better (possibly to avoid lawsuits ). These are the women in these institutions saying this, lol, not the men.
"I know i have less education and experience than most of my colleague professors here, but i also know that i make more annual salary. It's sort of odd when you think about it." - Profesor C. from the gonzaga school of business (a woman).
I'm not saying that women never get the short end of the stick, i just think it's overrated.
I will say Santa Claus out loud if I have to, those bastards are only doing this for no reason.
Seriously, this is where yahiko's expression is all true and needed: If you people have a problem with Santa Claus, get over it or DIE MAD.
No really, I feel like really just hitting those idiots on their noggins, this is not complaining at all, this is just pretentious crap! It's like saying change the 911 emergency line cuz it reminds you of the 9 11. God forbid nothing these days can stay the same just because it is too much close to something else.
(of course not saying the latter is something to be gotten over, I'd never make fun of such day, but you get what I mean)
I know we get lots of pedophile stories up here but goddamn it, shut the flak up with the superstitions about pedophilic Santa!

This year Cock Santa will be offering a helpline to those of you in despair. Cock Santa understands that Christmas can be a time of worry and sadness for many, when family, financial or emotional difficulties converge and lead many people to consider harming themselves.
That's why Cock Santa has set up this special helpline. Simply call him and he will tell you the quickest way to gas yourselves. You sad cheerless bastards.
This makes me think of a South Park Christams episode: some stupid people banned everything out of town related with Christmas because it hurted someone.
My PC eats so much money that I'm in 'desperate' need of it to buy PC3500 RAM, help Svol with his OC project!

I disagree. They have boobs. boobs distract men. so the women are hurting your productivity. to make up for the loss in productivity you just pay the woman less.
j/k of course.... well except that women really do distract men.

Yesterday my uncle spoke of another thing that happened, and indeed in Quebec now it is illegal to sing Xmas songs to kids at school as it can affect religious ones...
Goddamn you people, if you can't stand it, get the hell out, who cares if Xmas was depicting Christ, it's the family gathering, the closeness it brings that counts!
My mom works at the Tunisian embassy, gets days off for Muslim holidays, yet she's Christian. Does she have to complain? NO!

Um, no, you are just a person who still believes in the good will of Xmas, with no religious mindsets.
I'll be damned if some a$$-hole religious person comes to me and tells me to shut up, because I'll really make sure he identifies who's the wanker here.

Hey Svol, looking at the album, I couldn't help but notice you really are too shy when taking a camera pic! You should relax for a natural smile. (Or so says my mom to me too often, that's why mine was found after over 30 tries on the webcam lol)
Damn Lou's the only one not appearing yet.
