KT266a being produced and shipped now??!!?

Also, I did talk to VIA last night and they expressed that the KT266A Chipset is being mass produced and shipped now.

Not sure if that's true, and how far the boards are, based on that. This could be very good news for those looking for an upgrade or new system right now.

Thanks for the update, but is true about the 686b problem? End user data loss?

Don't know about data loss, but I have a 686b and it sucks. Compatability problems.

The KT266a uses a 686c Southbridge, which should fix the problem.

yeah talk about it... I bought the MSI K7T266 Pro about a month ago... fortunately for me, I don't have any problems with it... my USB keyboard,mouse and gamepads all work perfectly and the system is perfectly stable (Win2k)...

too bad I didn't wait though... the 30-40% performance increase would've been nice... :|
