4 months ago I used to play bfbc2 on my rig dual core 8800gt 2gb ram etc windows xp and I would be able to put it on meduim settings everythign and play at 1280x1040 with decent frames.

5 days ago I could barely play after upgrading to windows 7 64bit ( bad idea ) but still the lag increased dramatically and I uped my monitor size to 1440x900 but it became really really bad compared to before so i lowered all the settings but still no dice it was garbage.

So i bought a new 6950 and psu for the system thinking the gpu was defective but turns out its like the exact same with this hardcore lag even with all the settings set to low. Is the monitor size killing my cpu? Its just horrible and nothing like before.

1. Were you using XP x64 or did you go from 32 to 64bit?
2. What are the specs for the rest of the system.

It is obviously not the video card at this point. I have a feeling your motherboard is having an issue being a 64bit system. If your system is 3-4+ years old I would suggest updating your MB bios and see if that clears it up.

Also, in your "Member configuration" section, I see you've got 2 GBs of RAM. Check your memory usage during play. x64 uses more memory, you might be running into a thrashing issue on the swap file.

We need full specs. Unless it's a very fast dual core, it's simply not going to cut it for BC2. You almost need 4 physical cores for that game to run good, no matter how good of a card you have. I went from a C2D@3Ghz to a 2500k, used same card(4870), went from 30-40fps on medium/some low to 60fps on high.
