There are also intel-processor based motherboards that support DDR SDRAM. For example Asus CUV266. But intel CPU:s wont make much use of the extra bandwidth of the DDR RAM, and the same is true for AMD Duron CPU:s.

Most people would say that Athlon is the way to go for DDR, and in a couple of months maybe the new socket 478 (Brookdale) Pentium 4.
However you shouldn´t base a new system on a single DIMM that you happen to own. Especially if it is some cheap and maybe not even good DIMM, quality RAM is crucial (haha) in building a stable high performing system.
From what I´ve heard the EPOX DDR athlon motherboards are good (8K7A w/ AMD chipset, 8KHA w/ VIA chipset).
I´d recommend ASUS A7V266 if you want a nice, stable Athlon DDR mobo, I´ve got it myself and it´s running just fine with cheap TwinMos DDR SDRAM. If you have a month or so you can probably get it with a new faster memory-controller. Seems hard to get it in th US though.
