this is one of the few problems that i have had with xp.
lately, in the past 4 days, my system has randomly been
playing the usb plugin sounds, and then the unplugging
sound, followed by a pausing of about 5 seconds.

i checked all my usb cables, unplugged all
devices, rebooted, replugged, turned on and turned off
everything in any combination.

i have scanned for viruses and adware or spyware that
could be doing something, but i do not understand why they
would use the usb.

if anyone knows what this is or how to fix it, please
email me.

Can't get a handle on what this might be. Not enough
infomation supplied. Open event viewer Need help? Open up
help and support and search for "event viewer"
Double click application and system. Look for red
colored events that correspond with time of your error.
This will give you the possible offending program.. Below
down and up keys is the copy icon
(double document icon) Then you can paste that here.
If you Select micosoft link and reply yes That will open
up help and support(you have a connection to the
internet) You need to copy that info too and post here.
