Trying to install FarCry on an Athlon64 running the first version pre release Windows xp 64...............keeps telling me it requires directx 9.0......it is installed....9.0c...still won't recognise directx 9.0c is installed...how to install? Do I have to have the second release of XP 64 or what?

Have you restarted since installing directx 9?
and I assume you have all the correct drivers for your hardware, like your video card?

I agree with riser. Make sure you have installed all the latest drivers, and make sure you reboot.

I installed FarCry and then the 64Bit extras no problem on my A64 3200+ with Win XP x64 RC2

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]
