440bx agp problem

I have a pIII 800, and a GeForce 256. For some reason, when the GeForce is connected (to the AGP slot), the cpu fan will not start (and as a result, the machine won't boot). If i disconnect the GeForce card, and put in a PCI card, the machine boots fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem?

Could be a power supply problem.
