My Dell desktop Dimension is 2.5 years old, and its
performance is declining even w frequent defragging and
cleaning of disk and 50% of disk space is free. I hear
there is software available that I can run to clean up
the system and improve its maintenance. Can anyone
recommend a good one?
thanks

Norton CleanSweep may do the job for you. I'm not sure
whether or not it is sold separately by Symantec, but it
can be bought as a component of Norton SystemWorks 2004.
The web site for their products and services is
http://www.symantec.com/product/. My computer is also a
Dell Dimension and is a little over two years old. It
runs pretty well with the help of Norton.

Try these programs..

SPYBOT 1.3 download.. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

AdawareSE.. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Omega Killer.. http://www.short-media.com/review.php?r=252
