800/900? thats a wierd rez... if you mean 800/600 then you need to upgrade your monitor to something more substantial as your wasting a fair amount of gpu power... something like 1440/900 or 1600/900 (you can pick 1 up of this size for less than 100) would give you a better experience... you still wont be able to max out the game but you wont loose any quality if you up the screen rez and it will improve the overall experience.

btw low settings on bf3 is still pretty good looking. easily matching the consoles. add to that you have a dx11 card that will give great performance, so if you stick to dx10 or 9 settings will enable you to increase the image quality... but using dx11 will criple your system at any rez.

My PC is still a work in process, The RAM, the GPU, the PSU, the keyboard, the mouse, and the monitor are getting replaced soon, I just bought what I could with the money I had to get myself started before summer.

and yes, I meant 800 x 600

Im also wanting to know about running skyrim, but didnt want to make a new topic, not too fussed about BF3 they can stick origins where the sun dont shine.

Anyway, my pc specs are relativeley average, maybe even below average but i only play on 1024x768 and it got me thinking if i could run skyrim alright at 1024x768 too. Ive recently been playing witcher 2 on this pc at ultra (no Usampling) i havnt checked the fps but it seems to be smooth at all times, so maybe ill have some luck, and it still looks beautiful at this res.

You could probably do better with 4GB RAM, but still, at that resolution, you might be fine as well with that setup.

Indeed i would, been thinking about it, i just dont have the patience to install 64 OS

Also just checked on can you run it, halfway between minimum-recommended for BF3, but this of course does not take resolution into account when it calculates, and both BF3 and skyrim are also on the console so maybe i could run it a little. Roll on 11th november.
