GIGABYTE GA-870A comes in many flavours but it is not the board for running two graphics cards as second PCIE slot runs at 4X.

2x2GB memory is the way to go, and if you do go for the 870a will be fine for your current hardware.

For you to run two graphic cards at 16X speeds, you will need a motherboard based on 990FX chipset, something like GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 or GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 or GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7, but they will cost a lot more.
