Windows XP Home Hangs on Logout

I have Windows XP Home with all the latest updates
installed including SP2. I have 3 accounts set up on the
machine. In the past few weeks, it has started to hang
whenever any one of the accounts chooses to 'log off'.
It usually gets to the 'saving your settings' screen.
The mouse still moves around, but nothing else happens.
CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't have any effect. I have to restart
the computer.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
