What OS Service Pack level? How do you connect to the internet. Do you
have mail, web service? What, exactly, happens when you click on a
download link? If you press the control key when clicking the download
link, what happens?

I start the download process with Yahoo Messenger, get almost through the 15 minutes of installing, and a box pops up saying I don't have authority to make configurations and have to retry as an administrator. But I am already the owner and administrator of my computer, which is not part of a network or anything like that. I have the ServicePack 2; is this the cause of the problem? I also have Webroot's Spy Sweeper; can that be the cause. I also have the Windows Firewall that came with the computer installed; can that be the problem?
