This is the second hard drive I have running on my system used for storage
only.
This is the message I receive when running CHKDSK.
chkdsk is vertifying files <stage 1 of 3>....
File vertification completed
Correcting cross-link for file 8
chkdsk is vertifying indexes <stage 2 of 3>
deleting index entry w3svc.dll in index $130 of file 71.
deleting index entry dvdps.exe-011EC0BA.pf in index $130 of file 71.
deleting index entry dvdse~1.pf in index $130 of file 71.
Index verification completed.
Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read only mode.
I have tried running chkdsk in safe mode and normal mode
I have tried switches /X , /F, /I, /R separately and together and a mixture
of.
I understand that I may have to install recovery console and run chkdsk from
this.
When I try to install recovery console from the MS CD the error message is
that windows is not the same version and therefore it will not install.
