Specs:
Athlon 950
256MB S-DRAM
Aopen AK-53 Mboard (I think)
300W Power Supply
I recently purchased a new motherboard, and am having problems. The computer sometimes freezes during bios, or boot-up... usually 35 seconds to a minute after boot-up.
Also, the computer sometimes does not detect the keyboard and mouse on power up. The keyboard will show all 3 lights (num lock, caps lock, and scroll lock) and then will state keyboard not detected.
Also have had problem with AGP port. It will give a display first couple of boot ups but will stop afterwards.
I thought it might be the motherboard, (used ECS earlier)but this is the second one it has occured on. I also have tried multiple processors, previously an Athlon 850, and now an Athlon 950. However, I have had trouble with bad Athlon's in the past, and wouldn't surprise me to get 2 bad ones in a row (they tend to overheat regardless what u do sometimes, i use extra large heatsink and thermal compound. Is there such a thing as using too much thermal compound?)
Any suggestions or help would be great! Thanks.
