  1. Hi Melissa - Disabling the touchpad varies. Who is the manufacturer of your laptop? For example for an ACER laptop, pressing Fn + F7 should disable the touchpad.

  2. Go to control panel / mouse. Double click to open, find the pointing device/touchpad tab(or similar) and use the options to configure your touchpad
  3. Open the mouse setting, go to device setting, press setting again, select the plus sign in scrolling, select one finger scrolling plus sign, choose scrolling region, adjust the region to the very edge of your screen, apply, ok, then ok again, thats it. be sure you move the scroll area to the edge, so there is not any scroll area, this works on my Toshiba satellite lap top, hope it helps you.
