Hi, i have to replace a broken internal tape storage unit from an HP
server running Redhat linux.
The device i've pulled out is labelled C1537-00625 Revision 3725 Unit
ID 0118913-9804306601 Label Part Id: 3702377-01

My main concern is to find an identical unit, so that i won't have to
modify server's configuration.

I found that many C1537-xxxxx models exists, so i'm not sure if any
C1537 will do or i'll have to specifically find a C1537-00625. By the
way any idea where i could find a pdf manual or at least jumper
configuration for this drive?

Thanks in advance

Id be surprised if the C1537-00625 part number is the number of the DDS
mech. That part number is more likely to be assigned to an internal part
e.g. casting, plastic part, etc. The part number would probably be
C1537-67625 manufacturing part number, or C1537-60625 new unit, or
C1537-69625 repaired/exchange unit). But if its been revised during its life
the part number would have changed again.

Look here... http://docs.hp.com/en/rx5670_OpsMaint/ch07s01.html
...... the part number is C1537-69202 for an exchange unit for that server.

Also here...
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpv37995/lpv37995.pdf
....might contain jumper information.

Go to www://partsurfer.hp.com to get a list of what models are available.
Any models that don't have a price are no longer available.

There should be one correct part number for a new drive, and
a different one for an exchange unit.

Some of the different part numbers are for models that are only offered
in Europe or elsewhere. In addition, for tape drives there will internal
and external( with a case ) models. That is why there appears to be
so many possible choices.

I suspect the one you want is C1537-69202.
