PF should be set to x2.5 the amount of memory in your computer.

My home PC has 1.5GB DDR333.. meaning I should have a PF of 3.75GB.. which I don't.. I have it up there, but I rarely need it and I have it set to use my 2nd hard drive for whatever it needs.

I guess he thought that I was wanting to know where mine should be. Im asking for a totally different reason. BTW mine hovers around 87MB on my benchmarking RAID config.

late I know but mine's 312mb. I have 1gb RAM.
here is a VM optimization page you may have already read it mentions using RAID 0 to store Pfile. Also mentions a lower multiplier for size than riser mentioned above.

No, its not to late. The more responses the better. This project is a work in progress. The multiplier doesnt apply to me because im using intel. I was asking for a different reason anyhow.

Heres the deal. Im working on a very detailed faq thats going to cover many topics. One for instance is Benchmarking. Under this topic I will have many subsections. Im getting a data base of numbers from people in other forums also. At the moment im working on HD configs and performance numbers. Ive run benchmarks with RAID 0, 1, 0+1, on both SATA and IDE interfaces as well as used the various chips such as the Silicon image, Intel ICHR6, theres another one that I dont have in front of me. Im going to post the results in a day or so. Ive got some guys in other forums working on getting their members to send in their benchmarks for various components such as CPU's, Mem, ..... Its going to take some time before the whole picture comes together but we are getting a very good response so far. There was over 500 different people sending in their numbers the last time I checked. I was trying to take this on by myself but that was to much for one person to manage so I started chatting with some of the moderators and senior members that seemed to be into this kind of thing and it just took off from there.

If some of you would run this SuperPI MOD test it would be great. The PF usage was the most important thing, but this would be icing on the cake. This is a small zip program and it takes less than a minute to run. All you do is click on the top left tab and choose the 1MB test. Click OK and then OK one more time and let the test run. I need to know how many second it takes to complete. Please include all the numbers IE. 34.876 instead of 34 or 35. If you have any questions just ask.SUPER PI-MOD
