well i'm out of ideas. for one, the agp controller driver will not install no matter how i try under win2000. i've tried "update driver", using the setup.exe, using the file from their site. using the file from SiS's site, using the files off the cd. nothing. and second the bios will not update. starts loading the utility then says:
ERROR 2: File not found. and i thought doing the heatsink/cpu was going to be the hard part. anyone have any of these experiences? i'm ready to go skeet shootin with this board. thanks.

When you flash your bios, make sure you include the *.rom extention (for example: "aminf326 010820<b>.rom</b>), otherwise you will get that 'ERROR 2' message.
When installing the agp controller, try starting up with ONLY the video card. Make sure you have SP2 installed and install the <A HREF="http://203.66.2.110/ftp/Drivers/agp/10701t.exe" target="_new">AGP1.07+IDE drivers</A>.

thanks for the info. i figured it out last nite with the bios. i still don't get the agp controller drivers. the only device that seems to accept the driver is "SiS PCI IDE Controller". but when i try to load the .inf for it, tells me i already have the latest driver installed. when i choose still, to install the new one, it doesn't update it. but it seems to be running fine so i'm not going to worry about it. overall i really like this motherboard. cept for a couple small things, but namely just ECS'S explanations on some things and also i think the cd_audio jumper(s) could be in a better place. my cpu came in yesterday earlier than i thought, but my ram didn't, so i raced right down to a local shop and picked up 128mb to hold me til tuesday. thanks again for help and recommendations.

If you <i>really</i> want to install the other drivers instead of the 'latest' ones already installed, look up the name of the *.inf driver and rename it to *.old, then try to reinstall the "SIS PCI IDE Controller"--it should work then. If you start to have problems or whatever, just rename the 'old' driver back to *.inf and reinstall that one again.
