BOUGHT TWO K7S5A TO TRY 735 CHIPSET, IT WAS ALMOST PERFECT BUT..... IDE PERFORMANCE IS LOW AND SANDRA SISOFT INDICATES DMA TRANSFERS NOT ENABLED, I CAN'T FIND THE WAY TO ENABLE DMA TRANSFERS IN BIOS SETUP .. SOMEONE TO HELP WITH THIS? IDE UNIT IS UDMA100 CAPABLE WITH 80 CONDUCTOR CABLE, CD UNIT HAS ITS OWN CABLE ON SECONDARY CONTROLLER, MEMORY IS 256MB DDR2100, PROCESSOR IS ATHLON 1200 266 FSB

in bios go to standard setup, then for primary master, select auto hit enter. it should bring up the specs on the drive. if it still says pio mode 4, change it to 5. with HD Tach i get 32mb/s sustained (sometimes lil higher sometimes lil lower)

LOL, you need to go into device manager ( system properties) and under drives select your drive and enable dma there.

Caps lock can be hit again, you know?

Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Open Properties for Drive.

Yes I am well aware of that :)  Are you aware of the fact you can respond to comments other than the last one?
