Use a BART BOOT CD and swap out your HIVES... see if it helps.

Hey Greenwn,

Can you describe what the problem is exactly?

What error message(s) do you see if any?

Please be as descriptive as possible. Much thanks.

Craig:
The problem is that when I reboot, the XP Professional Startup page is
displayed, but the error message
of "Windows was not properly closed, due to error or power interuption (I
will write down the exact verbage tonite). I tried to F8 at startup, but
every option I have will eventually go to a blank screen (my mouse cursor
still is displayed though). As I indicated, I do not have the install
software, it was installed by an individual that is overseas presently (it
was a present from my daughter). So any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Bill
