Hi,
I'm building a new system, and I've been reading reviews on the new Asus, A-Bit, Gigabyte motherboards, and it starts to get really confusing. Majority of my friends use Asus. What is the big difference between the A7V266, A7A266, and A7M266 motherboards? Why is one better than the other. Lastly, what about the A-Bit KG7? TIA.

Each diff model U meantioned uses a differnet chipset from a different manufacturer... AMD760, Ali Magik & Via KT266/A

THe KG7-Raid uses the AMD chipset I think... go to Asus website, they should explain what each board has going 4 it... otherwise chek motherboard reviews for which is best...

A7V266 = VIA® KT266 Chipset
A7A266 = ALi ® MAGiK1 M1647 Chipset
A7M266 = AMD ® 761 Chipset

Do some research on chipsets and motherboards. Your question is extemely open ended, asking "Why is one better than the other?"

Abit KG-7 (RAID, Standard, and Lite) = AMD ® 761 Chipset

Like I said, check into motherboards and such. Much of what you want will depend on your needs.
