Please help! This question might already have been answered.
But please help as I'm a newcomer.
I have a chaintech CT-7KJD motherboard, I found that there was new BIOS updates for the board so I downloaded them and found the first one to have an error BIOS SUMCHECK ERROR!.
My pc boots me into BOOTLOCK, It asks me to insert SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. I have followed the info on Chaintech website with getting a messege AUTOMATIC LOAD AWDFLASH.EXE
!ERROR AWDFLASH.EXE NOT FOUND!
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER!
There is no A prompt so I'm lost at what to do.
Can anybody please help me.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that even with a failed BIOS update the BIOS Boot Block should have remained intact, meaning you can still boot a floopy disk from which you can reflash your BIOS.

Assuming you now have a working BIOS file the link below will show you how to make an Award BIOS Emergency Recovery disk. (Don't worry about the source being a Abit KT7 resource. The procedure is the same).

<A HREF="http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/faqbios.html#I flashed my BIOS and now the machine is dead. What can I do?" target="_new">http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/faqbios.html#I flashed my BIOS and now the machine is dead. What can I do?</A>

Would you like a Quarter Pounder?
No, thank you. Just give me the BIG heatsink. It's an Athlon.

What on earth did you write this post on?
With your computer completly locked?

A bootdisk should do the job,
and try reloading your old bios (if saved),
or give the new bios an second chance.
Some mobos need a jumper set to rewrite the
bios, have you checked your manual?
