For any that didnt know about this (Like me)

First I was a tad sceptical on this, but it *ACTUALLY WORKS*

Formats...

For EverQuest users - [tell EQ2.<servername>.<playername> <message>

For EverQuest2 users - /tell EQ.<servername>.<playername> <message>

Keep in mind, for the areas with the <> around the area, that is where
you put the selected server and player you are trying to contact!

So for those who thought they were losing good online friends because
of a game switch from EQ to EQ2, it is time for you to rejoice!

You can join eq2 chat channels as well from eq1

[joinEQ2.<servername>.<channelname>

but haven't been able to do eq2 to eq1 chatting

Unless they fixed it in the last few weeks, I couldn't figure out how to
join and talk on another game's channel (EQ and EQ2) and I did what you
mentioned here (except I put a space between "Join" and "EQ2" that I'm
guessing you typoed and left out).

I'll try to remember to test it again tonight.

I tried it again tonight. It worked. It's clunky, but it worked. I was
UNABLE to join an EQ2 chat channel that had a password though.

Anyway, like I said, clunky.

To join, [join eq2.server.channel-name

To chat, [1 hi!

To list, [list 1

To leave, [leave 1

Maybe it's not so clunky to anyone used to using the left bracket, but
that's gotta be a minority of us :)

I talked via tells with someone on eq2 from eq1, and it gave them my name
as the first character that I had logged on that session rather than the
one I was currently playing.

The first character you had logged on that session, or the first character
that sent your friend in EQ2 a tell?

In EQ2 I do like how the Reply list carries over from char to char as long
as you don't totally exit the game.

The first character I had logged in on that session, not the first one to
send a tell.

Same as EQ1, but handy, yes.

Eh? I'm going to have to test that...I don't think it's exactly the same as
EQ...there was something better but now you're making me question myself. :p

Well, in EQ1, if I camp to character select, and go back in with a
different character, it seems to remember the reply list, or, at the very
least, the last person to send a tell. Can't say that I've tried it by
going to the server select, being as I really only play on one server.
