I am thinking og buying a new system now but i dont want to spend lot of money on it (I am student afther all :-) I need money for other things). I am thinking for AMD platform with Sempron (754 socket, 90nm proces, 32 bit ). Now I am afraid that in 6 months or 1 year there wont be any 32bits programs on the market and I`ll be stucked with the old ones. What do you thing? Till when 32 bit programs will be on the market.

32bit programs will be with us for at least another 7-10 maybe more years.

64bit will run 32 bit.

64 isn't going to hit hard for years to come.

I'm building a mid-high end 64bit computer for under 600 dollars.

That's cheap for a good PC.

If you're worried about the future get a socket 939 motherboard, they'll let you upgrade to dual core.
