Hello. I've been having a problem lately with my mouse. The cursor just freezes in position for a random amount of time, either 3-4 seconds or it'll freeze completely and I'm forced to restart. It is a PS2 compatible mouse.

My system specs are top of the line, with a gig of ram.
I tried all that I can think of.
-Emptied temp internet folders
-Tamed hardware acceleration
-Checked mouse drivers
-Tried another mouse
-Defragged PC
-Downloaded new nvidia drivers
-Checked for a yellow sign on mouse

Here are the programs i'm running in the background:
WSCNTFY.EXE
ALG.EXE
TASKMGR.EXE
ashWebSv.exe
ashMaiSv.exe

Try a USB mouse.

The only times I've seen this problem is from spyware. Download Microsoft's anti-spyware program or spybot search & destroy. Run those, see what they find.

Also looks like you might be running a web server or something in the background?

What all do you have running on your PC that you are aware of?
