Is there a fast way to max BEGGING? That is the only skill I have under 50
and my VS BST should be able to max it at 200.

Unless it's changed, you can beg from your pet, if you're a pet
caster. I can't remember if you can beg from someone else's pet or
not.

I can't say this with 100% accuracy, but I would think you could. A
Rogue friend of mine tried Pickpocketing my Beastlord pet, just for
fun, and it seemed to work, as he got the "attempt unsuccessful"
message. If he wasn't allowed to pickpocket it, the message would have
been different. If that skill did, I would think Beg would too.

My Necro received Begging skill ups from his pet until I gave up at a
skill level of 110. My Beastlord never got a skill up from his pet,
but I must admit I never tried it as consistently with the Beastlord
as I did with the Necro. The Beastlord had significantly less down
time early on.

Priest of Discord is a safe NPC on which to practice begging.

Skill-ups are quite slow, however.

While there are numberous odd ways to raise your begging skill (the one
I found most incongruous was when you could beg from the mast of the
ship carrying you across the Ocean of Tears), I can't think of a single
use for the skill; as a money maker its got to be the least efficient
thing in the game, if someone with a 200 beg skill can clear a pp an
hour with it I'd be very surprised; and I can't think of a quest, for
any class or race, that hinges on a beg success.

Begging -is- useful, but in an odd way. Failing a beg attempt seems to
annoy the mob you are begging from. Thus, failing begging is a taunt.

Unlike every other skill in the game, this one becomes less useful the
higher your skill; the odds of you failing drops as you get better at
it, and thus it acts as less of a taunt.

Seems to me you should only use this skill in cases where you are having
a hard time holding aggro, and you should make a point of not wearing
your wis/int gear when you do so, in order to minimize the chances of
skill ups!

What, are you new here? Considering SoE's penchant for coding
ideosyncracies in the game, I think it's safe to say that one has no
bearing on the other.

Actually, I'd consider the ability to pp anyone's pet to be a bug.

He is????

He walloped me into next week more than once...
OF course this was years ago, it may have changed. My monk would always
practice on other people's pets.

There is a quest in Riwwi that requires 150+ Begging.
Charms (the inventory slot, not the pets). I've seen a charm (can't
provide a cite, unfortunately) that has increased stats based on your
Begging and Alcohol Tolerance skills.

Both of these are obviously recent additions. For the longest time it
was all-but-useless.

I must have spent 2 hrs begging from my pet, without a single skill point
(I'm still at lvl 9). I'll try the Soulbinder for a while, I think that was
how I got the first 9 pts.
